Jessica Chastain showed her support for the SAG-AFTRA strikes during the Venice Film Festival by wearing a T-shirt adorned with the protest’s logo.
The Interstellar star, 46, was seen on Friday at the 80th annual festival wearing the tee, as she attended safe in the knowledge she was not crossing the picket line.
This year only a handful of independent productions have permission to be promoted by their stars, including Jessica, who is attending to plug her movie Memory, as well as Ferrari actor Adam Driver.
Greeting fans and aides warmly, Jessica looked stunning as she stepped out in the black tee with a high-waisted, nautical-inspired mini skirt.
The 2023 Venice Film Festival has been a far more low-key affair than years past, as much of Hollywood has opted to stay away for fear of breaching the strikes.

The glitzy Italian event, which kicked off last month, usually sees some of Hollywood’s biggest stars grace the red carpet to promote their work.
Jessica is promoting her role in Mexican director Michael Franco’s film Memory, her first performance since her Oscar-winning turn in The Eyes Of Tammy Faye. Memory will have it’s initial release date on September 8.
In Memory she plays Sylvia, ‘a social worker who leads a simple and structured life. This is blown open when Saul follows her home from their high school reunion. Their surprise encounter will profoundly impact both of them as they open the door to the past,’ as per IMDb.
Since July 17, Hollywood has ground to a halt as members of the SAG-AFTRA union joined the Writers Guild Of America in going on strike over growing concerns of the use of artificial intelligence and streaming residuals.
According to Variety, a select list of films premiering at Venice have obtained SAG-AFTRA interim waivers since they are independent productions that have not been produced by AMPTP members.
Earlier this week the beauty was joined by husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo and their two daughters during a relaxing outing in Venice.
The SAG-AFTRA strike began on July 14 and is the latest of the ongoing labour disputes in Hollywood which has led to most movie sets grinding to a halt.

The action has brought the industry to a virtual standstill, forcing many film and TV productions to shut down, and marks the first time in more than 60 years that both actors and writers have gone on strike.
The strike has been going on since early May.
Under the rules of a strike, all Sag-aftra members will not be able to film any movie or TV series – which means that almost every show and film that’s currently in the works will be delayed indefinitely until the problem is resolved.
British union Equity, the sister organisation to Sag-aftra, said in a statement that they are are ‘full square [sic] behind’ their US counterpart.
British actors including Brian Cox, Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis have also been among those supporting the US strike over here.
